A Boutique Inspired by Dolly Parton - New London Wisconsin

Did you know New London Wisconsin has a fantastic clothing boutique? You need to see Northern Belle Boutique! Britney owns this cheery boutique, inspired by Dolly Parton, and this article is all about this fantastic business. 

This shop is glitz, glam, and beauty. The outfits are beautiful (I couldn't pass up a plaid cardigan when I stopped in to take photos) there's an outfit for every woman. Northern Belle Boutique carries a fantastic line of perfumes - my favorite scent was the "smoke show" perfume. I love the selection of apparel and jewelry. As a New London native, I remember shopping at Markman's as a kid and it is so nice to have such a wonderful collection of outfits, jeans, and accessories back in this town. 

Britney has made an inviting shopping space that sets Northern Belle Boutique apart from big box stores. It's more than shopping, it is the experience you have when you shop here that makes this boutique special. This is a place where moms can go with their kids, where you won't be judged or feel rushed along. Britney is also a mom, and she understands how important it is to feel good in what you wear. This is a place for friends to meet up and hang out. Britney turns fashion into an art form and makes her customers feel special while they shop.

Northern Belle Boutique was inspired by Britney's love for Dolly Parton. When I interviewed Britney, she talked about her admiration for Dolly, her strength as a businesswoman, and the intentionality of Dolly's decisions. Britney said, "Dolly knows who her girl is and I want to replicate that in my business."  Walking through this boutique, I can see how intentional Britney is with her decisions. She knows her girl too!

Like many other small businesses, success didn't happen overnight for Britney. There were struggles along the way. Britney's strong faith in God helped her get through the hard times. She worries less because of her faith. 

Early on, COVID struck and she wasn't sure what was going to happen. It was a struggle not being able to be open and she had to be creative. After seeing a vintage camper she liked in Indiana, Britney, and her husband Justin took a trip to get it. The trip was a struggle - between a snowstorm, a rock blowing out a window in the camper, and an overnight stay at a hotel, they got the camper back. This camper is how Britney brought shopping to women when they couldn't come to her. Bear Lake Campground in Manawa, Wisconsin was very generous and allowed Britney to set up so women could shop for clothing and accessories while they waited. Britney was grateful for these opportunities because that is what pulled the shop through COVID. 

We don't always see the struggles it takes to keep a business going, but small businesses are the heart and soul of our communities. These businesses support  Little League teams, support charities, and pour donations back into the community. These business owners take a giant leap of faith. I am thankful for Britney and other small business owners who live out their dreams and create these wonderful spaces. Britney gives credit to God, her friends and family, and especially her husband Justin, for all the love and support they give every day for her to live out her dream.
